Reading Strategy Tips
- Scan for numbers and times first. Signs and notices often contain hours, prices, or dates — these are frequent test targets. Find them quickly before reading everything.
- Look for negative words. Words like không (no/not), cấm (forbidden), and nghỉ (closed/off) often carry the most important information and are commonly tested.
- Use context to guess unknown words. At A2 level you won't know every word — focus on the words you do recognize and build meaning from those.
- Read the question before the passage. Knowing what information you need helps you skip irrelevant details and find the answer faster.
- Watch out for distractors. Wrong answer options often use words from the passage but with incorrect meaning — always check back against the original Vietnamese text.
